Terms of Service

1. Who operates the Service

The Service is operated by the maintainers of Best OSRS Bot (“we”, “us”, “our”). The Service is a community tool for Old School RuneScape (“OSRS”) clans and Discord communities. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Jagex Ltd. OSRS is a trademark of Jagex Ltd.

2. Eligibility

You must:

  • Be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country to use Discord).
  • Have a valid Discord account and comply with Discord’s Terms of Service and Community Guidelines.
  • Have permission to add the bot to any Discord server you configure and to manage clan data for communities you represent.

3. Accounts and authentication

The web dashboard uses Discord OAuth2. We receive basic profile information from Discord (such as your Discord user ID and username) to identify you and enforce permissions. You are responsible for activity under your Discord account and for keeping your Discord credentials secure.

Access to clan management features requires appropriate clan roles (owner, staff, or member) or bot administrator status as configured by the Service operators. We may deny or revoke access at any time for security, abuse, or policy reasons.

4. The Service

The Service may include, without limitation:

  • A Discord bot with slash commands and server features (clans, events, ranks, applications, party finder, reports, and plugins).
  • A web dashboard for clan leaders, staff, and members (rosters, stats, applications, feature toggles, and administration).
  • Integration with third-party OSRS statistics providers (including WiseOldMan) to display or sync player progress.
  • A player reporting system for scam or rule-breaking allegations, subject to review.
  • Bot administration tools (server messaging, suspensions, metrics, and clan oversight) for authorized operators.

Features may change, be enabled or disabled per server, or require a bot restart. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for harassment, hate speech, illegal activity, or to violate Discord’s or Jagex’s rules.
  • Submit false, misleading, or malicious player reports or application responses.
  • Attempt to access data or areas of the Service you are not authorized to use.
  • Probe, scrape, or overload the Service; reverse engineer the bot except where law permits.
  • Use the Service to automate gameplay in OSRS or to violate Jagex’s terms.
  • Upload malware, illegal content, or material you do not have rights to share (including in report evidence or party gallery images).

We may suspend or ban Discord users or servers, remove content, delete clans, or terminate access if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms or harmed the Service or other users.

6. Clan and user content

Clan owners and staff control clan configuration, member rosters, OSRS usernames, event settings, application forms, Discord messages posted through the Service, and other data you submit (“User Content”). You represent that you have the right to submit User Content and that it does not infringe others’ rights.

You grant us a limited license to host, process, display, and transmit User Content solely to operate and improve the Service (including posting embeds or buttons in Discord channels you configure). You retain ownership of your User Content.

7. Player reports

Reports submitted through the Service or Discord reflect the opinions of submitters. We review reports when possible but do not guarantee accuracy, outcomes, or action against reported parties. Accepted reports may be visible to authorized reviewers. Do not rely on reports as the sole basis for in-game or real-world decisions.

8. Third-party services

The Service depends on Discord, may use WiseOldMan or similar APIs for OSRS data, and may link to external sites (for example support communities or donation pages). Those services have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for third-party services.

9. Donations and fees

Optional third-party donation links (such as Ko-fi) are not part of the core Service contract. The Service is provided without a mandatory subscription unless we state otherwise in writing.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT OSRS STATS, LEADERBOARDS, OR REPORT DATA ARE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR TIMELY.

11. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR CONTRIBUTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR GAME PROGRESS, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) FIFTY US DOLLARS (USD $50), IF YOU PAID NOTHING.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.

12. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims arising out of your use of the Service, your User Content, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of others’ rights—except where caused by our intentional misconduct.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or discontinue the Service, remove the bot from servers, or delete data according to our Privacy Policy and operational needs. Sections that by nature should survive termination (disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, and governing law) will survive.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may be announced via the website or Discord support channels. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the Service operators’ principal place of business, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that jurisdiction will have exclusive venue for disputes, unless mandatory consumer protection laws in your country require otherwise.

16. Contact
